Apple iPhone to include online gambling and poker sponsor

The iPhone will come preinstalled with Full Tilt online poker software.

Strange move by Apple – especially since Steve Jobs is against gambling.

Full Tilt Poker made an offer that Apple “couldn’t refuse”. I think a lot of money must be involved in this deal. There seems no other logical explanation for this. Apple will probably take a large percentage of the money FT take from this deal.

I will have further updates later today. This news was reported by a personal conversation with Apple board member Bill Campbell. This news comes with the news of the iPhone supporting MS Word and Excel.

What are others thoughts on this?

  3. Full-tilt is a great poker site, but it causes problems on my iMac in conjunction with other programs.

I rather wonder if it might snag the works on their darling debutante, the i-Phone.

    Just a piece of thought.

The problem is not what is included, but people who rise additional meanings to the contents. The phone itself just does it job – processing binary data. Apple provides option for those who would like this service to be included. And these are people that wouldn’t say a word. Only people that against gambling wouldn’t scram out loud. Some of them might have gambled for years but lose everything at the end. Some of them might have family members who have been in this most profitable industry, and then turned out to be a loser for whatever the reason was.

I don’t gamble, however I don’t think there is nothing wrong about gambling. It’s the contents that makes it different. Also, individual experience changes a family and a community’s point of view on it. For Apple, I would say, if it is profitable, go for it, let people decide the risk of gaming. Everything comes with consequence, with all real -life materials of how people f’k up their life and be successful by gambling. If anyone chooses so, it is one’s job to face the consequence.

  5. Yet another feature that my iMac(heapbastard) Phone won’t have….

Good idea.. but their is a concern for kids that buy an I-Pod but they are underage, and shouldn’t be influenced by gambling on their device.

  12. if a kid can afford an iPhone they sure as he’ll should be old enough to make the decision I’d they want to play poker. Its a $400 phone. I bought my iPhone cause I called apple and asked them if I will be able to play poker online on my iphone sites like ap that offer instant play off java and they said oh yeah definitely. 26. You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be actually something that I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me. I’m looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang of it!|

  27. Thank you for the sensible critique. Me and my neighbor were just preparing to do a little research about this. We got a grab a book from our local library but I think I learned more from this post. I am very glad to see such fantastic info being shared freely out there.
